So here it goes...Why magic?  Why would someone
like me, a guy in his 30's, spend time doing something
many consider a child's hobby?  Well the answer is I
have always loved it and for many reasons.  As a kid
the draw was to the fancy, flashy boxes and more
importantly, knowing how to do something others did not.
As a teen I thought it might make me a "chick-magnet"-
(not the results I hoped for).  As I grew older, I started to
really formulate my thoughts about the art of illusion.
The truth is, though I clearly don't have any supernatural
powers, the art of illusion does give me the chance to
make an audience believe in possibilities in a sometimes
jaded world.  I know that sounds corny, but see it from
my perspective...plus it is just plain fun.
I have been blessed with great opportunities.
Recently I played the role of Harry Houdini in
Ragtime
the musical.  I escaped from a straitjacket while
suspended upside down, disappeared from a crate in
mid-air...(and I sang and danced)...Currently, I serve as
Artistic Director for the Players Guild Theatre, a job I'm
very proud of.  Most magically, I have a beautiful wife
and two cute-as-a-button daughters.
